Maria R. Downey, OD

Dr. Maria Downey is originally from upstate New York and is an alumnus of both Binghamton University and The State University of New York College of Optometry. After completing her residency in Ocular Disease and Co-Management at OMNI Eye Specialists in Baltimore, Maryland, Dr. Downey and her husband moved to Pennsylvania in 1999. They settled in western Chester County and have lived there since 2006. Dr. Downey has extensive experience in clinical practice and ocular disease management. Dr. Downey is excited to return to private practice after completing a faculty appointment at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University. She has a special interest in diabetic eye care and anterior segment disease.

Dr. Downey is a member of the Berks Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, and the Pennsylvania Optometric Association.

In her spare time, Dr. Downey enjoys hiking, photography, and studying martial arts.
